I so wasn’t prepared for the bitter freeze of the past couple of weeks. Isn’t it supposed to be spring already? I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been caught out in the cold without gloves this week, and my hands were in bits. My usual Soap and Glory Hand Food isn’t cutting it, and I’d also been slathering my paws with Lush Coco Lotion to no avail. I resigned myself to enduring the uncomfortable dryness, until I had a lightbulb moment when tending to my cuticles. “Sure why not use some of this on my hands,” I said to myself. “It can hardly do any harm.”
Ladies, it was a revelation. My hands are now perfectly soft and moisturised.
I’m very particular about my lip care, as my lips are damn fussy. Every winter, the damn things crack and split at every opportunity, unless massaged hourly with expensive butters and oils. Vaseline? They crack in protest at the mere thought. High maintenance? Moi?
I had just run out of my holy grail Lavera Basis Sensitiv Lip Balm and after taking a chance on Dr. Organic Manuka Honey Lip Balm (don’t, it’s useless) my lips were crying out for some TLC. After much moaning and hint dropping, lucky me received a glorious pot of buttery goodness for my birthday. Enter Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm.
In this plain, unassuming tube resides a miracle-working multi-tasker ladies. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast is listed in my monthly favourites every month and for good reason – it’s amazeballs! Rachelle is also a fan, as are Lynnie of Beaut.ie and Lisa Eldridge.
