Kicking off our Christmas Gift Guide we decided to start with our new favourite Irish brand Pixy. Pixy are the finest purveyors of natural beauty products in Ireland, with myself and Kat being huge fans. We have tried and tested numerous products and I had a little bit of a splurge last week in Doyle’s chemist so I have reviews incoming on a few other Pixy products….watch this space.
In the meantime take a look at some great ideas for stocking fillers. To save yourself the stress of hitting the shops you can buy direct from Pixy or if you prefer to get into the Christmas spirit and hit the shops, check out their list of stockists here. Read on »
I fell in love with the wonders of oil based products a fair few years back when Beaut.ie introduced me to the cleansing superhero that is Shu Umera Cleansing Oil. Shu oil had it all; it melted make-up, left skin soft and comfortable and came in a pump bottle. What more could a girl ask for? Unfortunately for me it also came with a hefty price tag which pre-mortgage era was fine but these days it’s strictly a “save up for treat”. (Beaut.ie also introduced me to Strawberrynet as it happens so me; those guys are such enablers!)
I don’t know about you but the cold weather that has set in has already started reeking havoc with my skin, especially my poor ‘oul lips.
My lips are something that I suppose I tend to overlook when it comes to my beauty routine but I have set about changing this thanks to the discovery of one wonder product and some yummy new lip balms. Read on »
Despite being of the oily skinned variety, and thinking we’d never get along together, this little bottle of golden goodness is my newest obsession. Trust Pixy to come up with an oil even the most sebum-prone person can’t help but adore.
Popping open the (uniquely designed) bottle of Softening Body Oil you’re met with a gorgeous waft of magnolia and jasmine. The perfume is sensuous, yet not overpowering, so you can just as easily slather it on before work as well as before some nice (and naughty!) massage. Read on »
It’s amazing how smells can be so evocative. Catching a whiff of a roast in the oven, or a certain aftershave can transport you right back to Sunday dinners with family, or a love long lost. Some are comforting like the former, and some not so (perhaps the latter?)! The old-world scents of Oil of Olay (or Ulay as it was back then, in the pink bottle) and Max Factor Crème Puff teleport me back to my nan’s house as she “put on her face” in the mornings.
Needless to say, I’m rather olfactorily biased and I just ADORE a product with a divine scent. While my head can totally appreciate a product with a non-descript scent that works wonders, my heart is won by the fragrance. Since I post from my head far too much, this post is devoted to those gorgeous smellies which have a place in my heart. Read on »
We at Dolly Rougeland were so lucky last week to be visited by the Pedi-Pixy. Her timing was nothing less than miraculous, as our poor feet are feeling the heat big time. Welly weather combined with summer heat does not happy toesies make. The generous Pixy dropped off a tub of Peppermint Foot Cream, and an interestingly shaped Solid Foot Scrub to revive tired toes. When a scrummy smelling package arrived through my letterbox a couple of weeks back I was intrigued as to its contents. I ripped the envelope open to find a pyramid of lime delights! I had been sent some of new Irish brand Pixy’s Lime Body Scrubber Cubes to test out and I knew upon first smell that me and these little scrubbers were going to become best buddies!
