I am SO OVER Winter. I don’t care that it was snowing last week and it’s dark before 5pm, I’m sitting here in a little dress and ballet flats. Law of attraction and all that. I’m ready for a breath of fresh air to shake off the winter cobwebs. I’ve thrown my heavy foundation into the makeup graveyard drawer of doom, and I’m embracing the cream – cream shadows, cream blushes and BB creams! Here’s a Valentines’ day-date inspired look featuring three of my favourite products for a radiant complexion and bright eyes: La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme, Respectissime Ultra Doux Mascara and NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush. Our favourite Irish mag Prudence are giving away a yummy Lindt Chocolate bar exclusively with Tesco this month. Chocolate is a scientifically proven mood-booster, which we all need a bit of during these dark, wintry days. That’s my excuse anyway. And free calories don’t count, right? Read on »
I picked up a quartet of the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains on the day of their release (that dedicated am I), in the only available shades at the time 001 Honey, 015 Cherish, 020 Lovesick and 040 Rendezvous. I believe some other shades have been launched since, and you’d better believe I’ll be going back for them. TL;DR I am LOV. ING. THESE. I don’t think I’ve been using any other lip products for the past month (aside from Lush’s awesome new lip colour), and for a fickle beauty blogger that says a lot. For the details and a GIVEAWAY keep reading. Read on »
I don’t really use cream eyeshadows much, I’m more of an Urban Decay Primer Potion + powder shadow kinda girl. Even so, when I did a spring clean of my stash recently I was horrified to find that my “just in case” stockpile of Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows had completely dried out. They were like rocks: unusable, unsalvageable. I was even more horrified when I remembered how much those babies had cost me: 20 quid each x 5 = one sad Kat! In the bin they went, and I resolved to that I would no longer buy stuff that I wouldn’t use, especially not expensive stuff that doesn’t keep. Read on »

The Body Shop shout loud and proud about their ethical credentials – promoting fair trade, sustainability, women’s rights, cruelty-free and most recently vegetarian cosmetics. Isn’t all makeup vegetarian you say, sure there’s no meat in them! Unfortunately many “cruelty-free” cosmetics can still contain animal-derived ingredients such as insect shells (colouring), gelatin (derived from animal connective tissue and bone adding texture, moisture, collagen to products) and animal hair. The new Lily Cole range from The Body Shop is completely free of all animal derived ingredients, making them not only cruelty free but 100% vegetarian. As someone who loves animals more than people sometimes, this makes me very happy.
I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the Lily Cole makeup range, cue pic spam!
Whee, I’m back! It’s been a tough couple of months for me and unfortunately my beloved blogging had to take a backseat for a while. Thank bob for the amazing Rach who kept things ticking over nicely, what a legend. Consider me officially back, with a vengence!
Today I have for you a product review that all oily skinned gals should appreciate – Nurturing Force Blot Out Offensive Shine + Oil Control Cream.
