I read about the L’oreal Feria Pastels home dye kits well before last Christmas and try as I might I couldn’t find out when they were launching in Ireland. I made do with jumping on the pastel haired bandwagon by having several run ins with Crazy Hair Colour but never did really achieve the subtle pastel look I was after; check out my purple hair that’s no so pastel below. Illamasqua Inspired “Eggsellent Speckles” with L’Oréal Confetti Top Coat and Estée Lauder Dilettante Nail Lacquer
I definitely take an anything they can do I can DIY (maybe not better) approach when it comes to nails. Whether it’s frankening, foiling or gel-ing I’m game. Recently, the pretty hard to get in Ireland, Illamasqua released an interesting range of “mottled” nail polishes as part of their limited edition l’Imperfection collection. These babies are definitely on my lust-have list should I come across them in real life. But until then, I’ll just have to make do with channeling the look in my DIY style.

L’Oreal Wild Ombre Preference Review

I am not sure what is up with me lately but my hair has been driving me batty. I’m just not sure what to do with it and to be perfectly honest I have yet to find a hairdresser in Athy/Carlow that I would trust to give me an overhaul.
I have been experimenting a lot at home; I even bought a hairdressing scissors on ebay and have been giving myself the odd trim here and there. I decided to try out the L’oreal ombre kit too recently and I’m becoming a dab hand at the ‘oul home dye jobs!
I picked up the L’oreal kit for about €9.00 in Dunnes stores recently and it was an absolute cinch to use. The pack contained the dye (made up of a cream & powder), gloves, a crappy ass brush and some 2n1 shampoo stuff. Read on »

L’Oreal Hair Expertise: EverPure, EverSleek & EverStrong. Forever in my bathroom!
The relatively new Hair Expertise range from L’Oreal has been sitting in my bathroom quite a while now, so I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to these gorgeous, shiny bottles of awesomeness!
When they first arrived I saw the “No Sulphates” tag and immediately became terrified. Sure haven’t I only been lashing on sulphates in all different shapes and forms for years? Isn’t that what’s been keeping my bushy, knotty and frizzy hair somewhat clean? Read on »

Supermarket Sweep: L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
There is a plethora of newly released hair oil products on the market lately which can make it confusing and time consuming trying to decide which one is right for you. Indeed I have somehow ended up with near on a drawer full of oil based styling products! First world problems, eh?!
L’Oreal have been clever and have taken the guesswork out of it for you by launching two Extraordinary Oils; one for all hair types and one specifically aimed at coloured hair. The only difference between the two is that the oil for coloured hair contains UV filters which in the glorious sunny weather we have been having of late will protect your colour from fading. The oil contains six floral oil extracts (chamomile, dog daisy, linseed, lotus, rose and tiare oils) but silicone also features heavily. Which is fine by me! My hair loves silicone.
I was lucky enough to trial the Extraordinary Oil Sublime Hair Enhancer (that was a mouthful!) for All Hair Types. Read on »
Supermarket Sweep/Dupe Alert: L’Oreal Elvive Triple Resist Shampoo & Conditioner
I don’t have loyalties with many things in my life and beauty products are no different. Whilst I do have a HG conditioner I tend to chop and change my hair products on a very frequent basis. It’s a luxury I didn’t have for a year or so as I had to repair my hair after a couple of years of bleaching. Now that my hair is back to a sort of normality I have been experimenting with supermarket brands alongside more luxury haircare.
This leads me to a newish product that I have been using and seeing good results with. It’s L’Oreal Elvive Triple Resist shampoo and conditioner (bought for under a tenner in my local Petitts). It claims to reinforce, nourish and strengthen fragile hair with a tendency to fall. Read on »
