There’s something lovely about waking up to find the world sleeping under a frosting of glitter. That is until you realise the car is frozen solid and you should have left for work 10 minutes ago. Ah the joys of Winter in Ireland. There is one place however where a frosting of glitter is always welcome (though not always appropriate!) – on my nails.
ELF Cosmetics UK can be quite hit and miss with their offerings; I’m a big fan of their Studio Blush but not such a fan of their Nail Polish offerings. So it came as a bit of surprise recently when an order I had placed arrived and I actually really liked all of the products I had ordered; usually I am doing well if I use one or two products from the many purchases I make (ELF are super cheap hence the reason I keep going back for more!).
I spent thirteen euros in total, got five products and took advantage of the free shipping Elf were offering that weekend (they regularly run promo. offers so keep an eye for discounts on their Facebook page). For handiness sake I have a quick rundown of pricing and review for each product below. Enjoy and let me know in the comments what other ELF products are a must buy! Read on »
It feels like only yesterday that we tiptoed out into the blogging world, unsure of the reception we’d get and whether we could keep it going after the novelty and excitement wore off. Well we’re still here, going strong more than 100 posts later. We couldn’t keep going without all our wonderful readers, commenters and promoters. So to say thanks to all you lovely ladies, we’re hosting a mega Christmas Giveaway Spectacular with prizes worth over €100! And not one of these items has been provided by a PR company, each and every prize has been paid for from our own pockets. That’s how much we love you ladies! Read on »
Second week into October and I am seeing too many C-word related tweets and countdowns and advertisements. Hush up already; its not even Halloween yet! Now that I’ve got that out of my system lets do a recap and see what we were up to in Dolly HQ this week Read on »
So I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to test my 17 new E.L.F. polishes quickly enough, but without resorting to skittles. Noticing that I’d ordered quite a few red-toned shades, I thought an ombre mani would do the trick.
Not a bad graduation of shades going by the bottles. I brought in Barry M Bright Red as a comparison, as this shade has always applied beautifully and lasted well. Here’s the result. Read on »
Please excuse the blurry pic, it shows the sparklies best. I’m all about the sparklies. This is Metal Madness from E.L.F., a lovely gunmetal grey. And when the light hits it, woah does it come alive! Red, blue, green, gold and silver glitter… Love it. Now, what I don’t love, is below. Read on »
My first favourites post! Yay! Here’s what I’ve been loving for the month of August.
I don’t own much from E.L.F Cosmetics. Their products seem to be hit and miss and reviews are mixed for all but their Studio Line brushes. My resolve broke recently though when they offered a 50% off promocode, sure I wouldn’t be too out of pocket if they didn’t work. So I added a few bits to the basket. Then some more. Then some more. Sure it was all so cheap! But pennies make pounds and of course the result was a massive haul, equivalent price wise to a few high end products! Yeah my finger hit the pay now button before my brain did the math. I could have been majorly kicking myself had I just wasted a hunk of cash on a lot of junk. So let’s see how I fared, starting with the best of the bunch, the mineral blushes.
