First Look! New from Bourjois – Cream Blushes and Bronzing Primer. A Soleil Tan de Chanel Dupe?

New Bourjois Cream Blushes Bronzing Primer Review

I’m sure you’ve seen these babies about the blogosphere already, they’ve cropped up on various UK beauty blogs and my lust for them grew with every sighting! It was all I could do to stop myself from ordering them all the way from Selfridges across the water. “Kat, it’s only makeup!” as one Lorraine might say. Luckily I managed to pick up the much anticipated new cream blushes from Bourjois over the weekend and it made me very happy indeed. While I was at it I threw in the new Bronzing Primer (in for a penny, in for a pound), which looks suspiciously like a dupe for the much lauded Soleil Tan de Chanel. Read on »

Fresh and Flirty with La Roche Posay and guest star NYC!

FOTD Fresh and Flirty La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme NYC Blushable Creme Stick

I am SO OVER Winter. I don’t care that it was snowing last week and it’s dark before 5pm, I’m sitting here in a little dress and ballet flats. Law of attraction and all that. I’m ready for a breath of fresh air to shake off the winter cobwebs. I’ve thrown my heavy foundation into the makeup graveyard drawer of doom, and I’m embracing the cream – cream shadows, cream blushes and BB creams! Here’s a Valentines’ day-date inspired look featuring three of my favourite products for a radiant complexion and bright eyes: La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme, Respectissime Ultra Doux Mascara and NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush.  Read on »

Go Veggie with the Lily Cole Makeup Range at The Body Shop!

The Body Shop shout loud and proud about their ethical credentials – promoting fair trade, sustainability, women’s rights, cruelty-free and most recently vegetarian cosmetics. Isn’t all makeup vegetarian you say, sure there’s no meat in them! Unfortunately many “cruelty-free” cosmetics can still contain animal-derived ingredients such as insect shells (colouring), gelatin (derived from animal connective tissue and bone adding texture, moisture, collagen to products) and animal hair. The new Lily Cole range from The Body Shop is completely free of all animal derived ingredients, making them not only cruelty free but 100% vegetarian. As someone who loves animals more than people sometimes, this makes me very happy.

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the Lily Cole makeup range, cue pic spam!

Cosmetics companies are bringing classic glamour back! Like we’ve been doing for the past few years…

I’ve seen some gorgeous visuals, and read some interesting press releases in the past few days, which seem to indicate that cosmetics companies are bringing back classic Hollywood beauty.

Here we have Estée Lauder’s Mad Men Collection.  This will feature a limited edition rose coloured Creme Rouge and a classic cherry-red lipstick, ensconsed in the most beautiful jeweled gilt packaging. Truly a throwback to 50s glamour.

Get the Spring ’12 makeup trend on a budget with MUA cosmetics!

I have had it up-to-here with winter. The grey, soggy skies are so depressing, and oh-my-god the cold! Worse it’s getting! It was warmer on Christmas Day than it has been this week. Spring can’t come quick enough. I just can’t wait to don a floaty dress and frolic through lavender fields with flushed cheeks and pink lips. Yeah… the frolicing is a total fantasy, but a pretty pop of spring pink on my cheeks and lips doesn’t have to be! Read on »

Dolly Rouge’s Best of 2011 – Part 2: Makeup, Nails and Gadgets!

Here we go with our second installment of Dolly Rouge’s 2011 favourites. If you missed it, check out part 1.

La Roche-Posay Teint Mineral is a powder compact. It can be used on its own with a sponge for medium-full coverage (oily or combo-skinned ladies), dusted with a powder brush to set foundation, or provide more coverage over sheer foundations (combo-normal skins). It covers redness/imperfections, doesn’t look powdery, doesn’t oxidise, doesn’t budge when faced with oil, doesn’t clog pores and has SPF 25. Consider that all boxes ticked for me! Read on »

Kat’s October Favourites. What were yours?

Dear bob, I can’t believe I’m writing this post already. It feels like I wrote my September favourites post last week, where I was lamenting the transition from summer to autumn. Well ladies, it’s winter now and the big C-word is just around the corner. Time has flown. *boggles*

Sleek MakeUP Haul: Blushes and a Pout Polish

Bless me father, for I have hauled. It has been less than a week since my last makeup spree.

Not long after I hauled some E.L.F (more posts coming on that soon) I went and hauled again, this time some Sleek MakeUP. I had a valid excuse, I was ordering the new Nude palette and adding a few extras made the delivery charge worthwhile, right? Yeah, the twisted logic of an addict. The Nude palette review should be coming up shortly (I’m deferring to the wonderful Rachelle for that one) so in the meantime here’s some blushes and a Pout Polish.

L-R: Life's a Peach, Rose Gold, Pixie Pink. Clicky for embiggenment.
