First Look! New from Bourjois – Cream Blushes and Bronzing Primer. A Soleil Tan de Chanel Dupe?

New Bourjois Cream Blushes Bronzing Primer Review

I’m sure you’ve seen these babies about the blogosphere already, they’ve cropped up on various UK beauty blogs and my lust for them grew with every sighting! It was all I could do to stop myself from ordering them all the way from Selfridges across the water. “Kat, it’s only makeup!” as one Lorraine might say. Luckily I managed to pick up the much anticipated new cream blushes from Bourjois over the weekend and it made me very happy indeed. While I was at it I threw in the new Bronzing Primer (in for a penny, in for a pound), which looks suspiciously like a dupe for the much lauded Soleil Tan de Chanel. Read on »

New Accessories feat. Alex & Ani, I Love Crafty and Ebay!

I don’t usually post too much in the way of fashion or accessories but I picked up some new bits recently that I thought were worth a mention.

First up was part of my valentines gift from my feller: our last valentines day together as just a twosome, as come August we are going to be Mam and Dad to a little chisler!  A cute birthstone bracelet from Alex & Ani that has left me wanting more from the brand! Its peridot (for August) and its expandable which is pretty excellent as I have tiny child like wrists and generally find it hard to find bracelets to fit comfortably.

Last of the big spenders: Elf-tastic!

ELF from l-r: Radiance Enhancer, Cuticle Pen, HD Eye Powder, Shimmer Eyeliner

ELF Cosmetics UK can be quite hit and miss with their offerings; I’m a big fan of their Studio Blush but not such a fan of their Nail Polish offerings. So it came as a bit of surprise recently when an order I had placed arrived and I actually really liked all of the products I had ordered; usually I am doing well if I use one or two products from the many purchases I make (ELF are super cheap hence the reason I keep going back for more!).

I spent thirteen euros in total, got five products and took advantage of the free shipping Elf were offering that weekend (they regularly run promo. offers so keep an eye for discounts on their Facebook page). For handiness sake I have a quick rundown of pricing and review for each product below. Enjoy and let me know in the comments what other ELF products are a must buy! Read on »

Inglot Freedom System 5 pan eyeshadow palette

I’ve been trying to pick up an Inglot Palette for a long time, but each time I browsed the store I was so overwhelmed by the massive choice of colours and textures available, I always left empty handed. Has that ever happened to anyone else or am I just mental? Well recently I decided that I would simply go in, turn the brain off and pick out 5 colours for testing, without pressuring myself to find the (subjective) best of the lot. This is what I came home with.

Etsy pick: Anja’s Arts Jewellery

I can’t take the credit for this Etsy find, as Lorraine of John, It’s Only Makeup! featured them on her blog recently and I couldn’t help but make a purchase.  Enter Anja’s Arts jewellery, an Etsy store featuring beautiful handcrafted rings, pendants, earrings and bracelets.  The rings really caught my eye, crafted from either sterling silver (plus germanium, to be tarnish resistant) or 14k gold-plated wire and glass or semi-precious stone beads.  They’re unique, beautiful, and keenly priced.  I went for the 3 x argentium sterling silver rings for  $27.00, which I ordered last Saturday and received them on Friday.  What an amazing turnaround time, less than a week, from the US!  So let’s see what I got.

How pretty are these! Please clicky to embiggen, especially to appreciate the blue goldstone.

NOTD: Red Ombre Manicure with E.L.F. & Barry M

So I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to test my 17 new E.L.F. polishes quickly enough, but without resorting to skittles. Noticing that I’d ordered quite a few red-toned shades, I thought an ombre mani would do the trick.

L – R: Barry M 262 Bright Red, E.L.F. Light Red, E.L.F. Medium Red, E.L.F. Dark Red, E.L.F. Chocolate

Not a bad graduation of shades going by the bottles. I brought in Barry M Bright Red as a comparison, as this shade has always applied beautifully and lasted well. Here’s the result. Read on »

Sleek MakeUP Haul: Blushes and a Pout Polish

Bless me father, for I have hauled. It has been less than a week since my last makeup spree.

Not long after I hauled some E.L.F (more posts coming on that soon) I went and hauled again, this time some Sleek MakeUP. I had a valid excuse, I was ordering the new Nude palette and adding a few extras made the delivery charge worthwhile, right? Yeah, the twisted logic of an addict. The Nude palette review should be coming up shortly (I’m deferring to the wonderful Rachelle for that one) so in the meantime here’s some blushes and a Pout Polish.

L-R: Life's a Peach, Rose Gold, Pixie Pink. Clicky for embiggenment.

E.L.F. Cosmetics Haul Part 1: Mineral Blushes

I don’t own much from E.L.F Cosmetics. Their products seem to be hit and miss and reviews are mixed for all but their Studio Line brushes. My resolve broke recently though when they offered a 50% off promocode, sure I wouldn’t be too out of pocket if they didn’t work. So I added a few bits to the basket. Then some more. Then some more. Sure it was all so cheap! But pennies make pounds and of course the result was a massive haul, equivalent price wise to a few high end products! Yeah my finger hit the pay now button before my brain did the math. I could have been majorly kicking myself had I just wasted a hunk of cash on a lot of junk. So let’s see how I fared, starting with the best of the bunch, the mineral blushes.
