Spring and Summer (!) Scents featuring Mark Jacobs, Guess and Roger & Gallet

Spring Summer Scents

It’s with joyous disbelief (with added “about flupping time”) that I write these words… Spring has sprung! It looked like it was never going to come, what with snow and freezing temperatures punctuating much of March, but it’s definitely here. We’ve cut the grass, opened all the windows to give the house a good airing, and *gasp* cracked out the sunglasses. And I’m telling you it’s not a moment too soon. I was starting to suffocate under my Aran knits and microfleece cozy opaque tights.

There’s nothing quite so evocative of spring and summer than a light, fruity, floral scent. Think cherry blossoms shaking in the breeze, the sweet magnolia scent of a summer’s eve, oranges, lemons and limes almost bursting with juice. Nom. I’ve packed away the dense, musky, albeit comforting Winter scents and am embracing the spritzes of the season. Here’s hoping I haven’t jinxed it for all of us! Read on »

Roger & Gallet Little Perfumed Moments: Travel Edition! O.M.Squeeeeeee

Roger & Gallet Travel

Myself and Kat love Roger & Gallet long-time and we both let out a mahoosive SQUEEE when we arrived into work yesterday morning to find a selection of their new travel sized fragrances! Between the two of us we own every fragrance in the collection already; Kat has a penchant for Gingembre whilst I find it hard to choose between Bois D’Orange and Rose Imaginaire.  Read on »

My favourite Oil based beauty products

I fell in love with the wonders of oil based products a fair few years back when Beaut.ie introduced me to the cleansing superhero that is Shu Umera Cleansing Oil. Shu oil had it all; it melted make-up, left skin soft and comfortable and came in a pump bottle. What more could a girl ask for? Unfortunately for me it also came with a hefty price tag which pre-mortgage era was fine but these days it’s strictly a “save up for treat”. (Beaut.ie also introduced me to Strawberrynet as it happens so me; those guys are such enablers!)

Back to the oils. Over the years my love for oil based beauty products has only grown so today I’m giving you the low-down on my favourites:  Read on »

Layering Scents with Roger & Gallet Bois D’Orange Sublime Or & Green Tea

I have been an ardent fan of Roger & Gallet since I first spotted the brand in Sam McCauley’s last year. Their range of unique scents, combined with their reasonable price point make their products a firm favourite on my dresser. Today I thought I would share with you how I layer two of my favourite Roger & Gallet scents, Bois D’Orange and my new favourite Thè Vert (Green Tea). Read on »

Rose (of Tralee) Inspired Beauty!

It’s that time of year again folks; the event all of us have been waiting for, second only to the near hysteria the Eurovision and Jedward brought us. Yes, it’s Rose of Tralee time again; more commonly known as the Lovely Girls competition by many of us reared on Father Ted. This will be Daithi’s first year presenting as a married man and I wonder what gaieties he has in store this time around? I can barely contain my excitement ;) Read on »

Roger & Gallet Green Tea Collection

I was so excited when the press release for the Green Tea Roger & Gallet offerings landed in my inbox that I let out a “Yay!” at my desk. I have been an ardent fan of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea for years and to be honest any other green tea range I have tried didn’t come close to EA’s offering. Until now, kinda of. Read on »

All I want for Christmas is this, this and this, and maybe that, and definitely one of those

Our inbox has been bursting at the seems with all the brands offerings for Christmas but rather than do a whole  series of Christmas offerings we decided to just bring you what’s on each of our lists beauty wise!  We would be here forever  and a day otherwise and in fairness we are a bit late to the game on the ‘oul Christmas front; most blogs had the low-down on Christmas months back!

First up is something I’m hoping my other half Rob takes note of. If you’re not Rob but you know him please kindly mention this post to him! I’ll be eternally grateful! It’s the Gorilla Perfumers at Lush set of Exclusive Mini Perfumes containing eight wonderfully named scents including: Ladyboy, 1000 Kisses and The Smell of Weather Turning amongst others. I really need this in my life.
