I read about the L’oreal Feria Pastels home dye kits well before last Christmas and try as I might I couldn’t find out when they were launching in Ireland. I made do with jumping on the pastel haired bandwagon by having several run ins with Crazy Hair Colour but never did really achieve the subtle pastel look I was after; check out my purple hair that’s no so pastel below. L’Oreal Preference Mousse Absolue – A case of if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it (and actually make an even bigger bags of it)
If I had a euro for every time I heard of the next new “innovation” in beauty, I’d be a billionaire by now. It’s one of those industries which is constantly innovating for the sake of it, to 1up in the arms race of personal perfection. There are some beauty items which lend themselves to new technology, and others which have remained pretty much unadulterated since they hit the shelves. Hair colour is very much the latter, sticking to the tried and trusted “mix the colour and the developer bottles and shake” ever since I can remember anyway. There’s no denying that it’s a messy, smelly, unpleasant process, however there are very few women out there who wouldn’t consider the bi-monthly colour top-up a part of their necessary regime. So an innovation to make this process easier and tidier is sure to be a winner, right?
Enter L’Oreal’s new Preference Mousse Absolue, needing no mixing, producing a foam which can be applied directly to hair as required. Is this the droid we’re looking for? Read on »
The Wearing of the Green: Colour Correction for Skin Redness & Blemishes
I thought this post was rather timely given the week that’s in it, and the fact that the BITTER cold is sure to be nipping at everyone’s noses. Like seriously, when’s the last Paddy’s Day when we had to worry about snow? And we thought rain was bad enough! But I digress… I myself am unfortunately very prone to the “Irish” affliction, that is the glowing nose. Rudolf’s got nothing on me. Alcoholic or not, most of us will be lucky to escape the cold snap with our skintone intact. Add acne to the mix and a milk-bottle Irish complexion turns rather more sour. Thankfully over the years I have perfected my redness covering techniques, so without further ado let me introduce my arsenal. Read on »
Illamasqua Inspired “Eggsellent Speckles” with L’Oréal Confetti Top Coat and Estée Lauder Dilettante Nail Lacquer
I definitely take an anything they can do I can DIY (maybe not better) approach when it comes to nails. Whether it’s frankening, foiling or gel-ing I’m game. Recently, the pretty hard to get in Ireland, Illamasqua released an interesting range of “mottled” nail polishes as part of their limited edition l’Imperfection collection. These babies are definitely on my lust-have list should I come across them in real life. But until then, I’ll just have to make do with channeling the look in my DIY style.

L’Oreal Wild Ombre Preference Review

I am not sure what is up with me lately but my hair has been driving me batty. I’m just not sure what to do with it and to be perfectly honest I have yet to find a hairdresser in Athy/Carlow that I would trust to give me an overhaul.
I have been experimenting a lot at home; I even bought a hairdressing scissors on ebay and have been giving myself the odd trim here and there. I decided to try out the L’oreal ombre kit too recently and I’m becoming a dab hand at the ‘oul home dye jobs!
I picked up the L’oreal kit for about €9.00 in Dunnes stores recently and it was an absolute cinch to use. The pack contained the dye (made up of a cream & powder), gloves, a crappy ass brush and some 2n1 shampoo stuff. Read on »

L’oreal Studio Matt & Messy
A quick review for anyone thinking of buying this! I picked it up in my local Shaws for the bargain-basement price €2.50! Not sure if that is the RRP or what but keep an eye out for it.
I don’t have much talent when it comes to doing my hair to be honest so any products that help to me to achieve a certain look always come in handy. I had previously tried the Bumble & Bumble Salt Spray which cost me around €12.00 and I really didn’t love it. It made my hair too beachy in that it was a total pain in the arse to brush or wash out after using the product! Exactly as if I had spent a day splashing in the waves! Read on »
L’Oreal Hair Expertise: EverPure, EverSleek & EverStrong. Forever in my bathroom!
The relatively new Hair Expertise range from L’Oreal has been sitting in my bathroom quite a while now, so I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to these gorgeous, shiny bottles of awesomeness!
When they first arrived I saw the “No Sulphates” tag and immediately became terrified. Sure haven’t I only been lashing on sulphates in all different shapes and forms for years? Isn’t that what’s been keeping my bushy, knotty and frizzy hair somewhat clean? Read on »
