Dry Skin Creams for Pregnancy with La Roche Posay & Palmers!

la roche posay lipikar ap palmers cocoa stretch mark cream

I am five months into my pregnancy now and I can tell you that those five months have certainly taken their toll on my skin! The thoughts of stretch-marks doesn’t  bother me to be honest; they are just little reminders of how awesome a womans body can be. My beef is with the dry, itchy flakey skin that appeared out of nowhere along with the nice case of bacne thrown in for good measure.Every part of me itched and I had huge boils on my already itchy, scaly back. I was starting to feel thoroughly miserable until two creams came to my rescue……. Read on »

FOTD Fresh and Flirty La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme NYC Blushable Creme Stick

I am SO OVER Winter. I don’t care that it was snowing last week and it’s dark before 5pm, I’m sitting here in a little dress and ballet flats. Law of attraction and all that. I’m ready for a breath of fresh air to shake off the winter cobwebs. I’ve thrown my heavy foundation into the makeup graveyard drawer of doom, and I’m embracing the cream – cream shadows, cream blushes and BB creams! Here’s a Valentines’ day-date inspired look featuring three of my favourite products for a radiant complexion and bright eyes: La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme, Respectissime Ultra Doux Mascara and NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush.  Read on »

My favourite Oil based beauty products

I fell in love with the wonders of oil based products a fair few years back when Beaut.ie introduced me to the cleansing superhero that is Shu Umera Cleansing Oil. Shu oil had it all; it melted make-up, left skin soft and comfortable and came in a pump bottle. What more could a girl ask for? Unfortunately for me it also came with a hefty price tag which pre-mortgage era was fine but these days it’s strictly a “save up for treat”. (Beaut.ie also introduced me to Strawberrynet as it happens so me; those guys are such enablers!)

Back to the oils. Over the years my love for oil based beauty products has only grown so today I’m giving you the low-down on my favourites:  Read on »

La Roche-Posay Nutritic Lips – My Hero!

La Roche-Posay Nutritic Lips is my saviour. I’ve been suffering from really chapped, dry, flaky lips for the past few days, with no idea what caused it. I’m not dehydrated, I’ve actually been drinking more water than usual, and I can’t see how the wonderfully balmy weather we’ve had could be the culprit. Anyhow, my lips have been cracking, peeling and bleeding. I tried every lip balm in my possession – Nuxe Reve de Miel, Carmex, Liz Earle Superbalm, Vaseline – they all eased the discomfort briefly, but the flakies returned.

Then I remembered this beauty. Read on »

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 – A miracle in a tube?

So you all must know of my unabashed grá for La Roche-Posay Cicaplast, I’ve gone on about it enough. You can imagine my absolute delight to be invited to the launch of the latest and greatest addition to the La Roche-Posay family, Cicaplast Baume B5.  It’s billed as “an all in one product which soothes and repairs all irritated or altered skin with an ultra comfortable, nourishing balm formula”. La Roche-Posay are marketing it to everyone, for everything! Or at least any non-bleeding skin problem you can imagine: nappy rash, eczema, dry patches, chapped lips, sunburn, cracked nipples… You name it, as long as it’s a non-oozing wound, Cicaplast Baume B5 apparently treats it.
