Benefit Fake Up – Hydrate & Conceal

Concealing spots, blemishes and other unsightliness has never been my strong point; no matter what my choice of tools or product. That said I think the tables are finally starting to turn for me thanks to the newest Benefit product: Fake Up hydrating and concealing stick.

My usual downfall with concealers is that I need a highly pigmented, long-lasting product however these are exactly the type of products that tend to dry out skin  and make my blemishes “flakey”. My skin is very spot prone so its a constant battle to find a happy medium between nicely moisturised skin along with good concealment. Its a fine balance and some-days my skin just doesn’t want to play ball. My usual concealers of choice include Barbara Daly for Tesco, Collection 2000 and Benefit Boi-ing and a million others in between so I jumped at the chance to attend Benefits  recent blogger evening (Benefit events are SOOOO MUCH FUN) and learn all about their exciting new concealer product. With these amazing Stay All Day Cream Eyeshadows, I’ve only got eyes for Essence!

I don’t really use cream eyeshadows much, I’m more of an Urban Decay Primer Potion + powder shadow kinda girl. Even so, when I did a spring clean of my stash recently I was horrified to find that my “just in case” stockpile of Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows had completely dried out. They were like rocks: unusable, unsalvageable. I was even more horrified when I remembered how much those babies had cost me: 20 quid each x 5 = one sad Kat! Benefit Sun Beam: A ray of gorgeousness

Benefit products and I have a love/hate relationship. I hate Benetint but love High Beam. I love Dallas but don’t have so much love for Bad Gal eyeliner. You get the picture. Their stand-out products for me are their awesome range of powders. I have “invested” in almost all of them and they are products I return to again and again.

So it’s safe to say I don’t get overly excited when I hear news of new Benefit launches and I felt much the same about their new highlighter Sun Beam. That was until I got to sample it at a recent blogger event and boy did I have to eat my words! Read on »
