Oh great, another post about the demise of Google Reader, yawn. Well yes, but we have a little incentive for you at the end, so please keep reading. I’m sure you’ve seen all around the blogosphere that Google Reader is closing on 1st July. I could get into all that and GFC malarkey, but to be honest it’s been coming for a while. Google seriously want a Facebook competitor, and so will be gradually pushing everything social towards Google+. If you currently rely on Google Friend Connect to follow blogs, it might be a good idea to start looking at an exit strategy. Which is why I’m posting today! Read on »
Well do we have a treat for you today! In conjunction with the amazing Urban Decay, we’re delighted to offer a free foundation match of the new “Naked Skin” foundation at your local Urban Decay counter. Myself and Rachelle popped down to our local at Debenhams Newbridge to test the service, and had a lovely consultation with Aoife who gave us a fab makeover absolutely free. We promise you won’t regret it, as Naked Skin foundation is a winner – providing weightless medium buildable coverage which feels and looks like your best skin day EVER. Why not bring mum along too for a Mother’s Day treat! Be sure to check out the limited edition Glinda and Theodora palettes while you’re at it, they’re stunning.
ON TOP of that, we have a Naked Basics eyeshadow palette to giveaway to one lucky reader! Check out Kat’s review of this very handy workhorse product here.

Our eyes are bigger than our bank balances here at Dolly Rouge unfortunately. How often have we flicked through the fashion pages of a magazine, lusting over the fabulous ensembles, to have disappointment wash over us as we see the price tags. We’re big into savvy spending and getting the best bang for your buck here on the blog, so when I leafed through this month’s Prudence I was pleasantly surprised to find that Pru is not just another clone of your usual women’s mag (rag?).
Aaah these boots, how I love their wine velvet, sleek heel and buckled ways. Looking at the shape and quality of them I immediately labeled them as out of my league and went to turn the page. But then my eyes alighted upon the price. €35! What?! These shoes are not from a designer label, but from Dunnes Stores! I’ll be picking them up with my groceries this week.
The mag also features a budget dupe of a new lustworthy Mark by Mark Jacobs bag, and fab features on how to channel the latest trends without having to take out a second mortgage. Condsidering how disposable fashion has become, what’s the point in paying through the nose for a trend that will come and go in the blink of an eye? Though of course neither is there a point in false economy, so the mag also features some pricier key wardrobe pieces that will take you through the decades. Me likey.
Myself and Rachelle have been on blog holliers this week; Rach is lounging on some sunny beach in Crete and I was doing the headless chicken trying to keep up with work without her! But we couldn’t let this week go by without marking a particularly important milestone in Dolly Rouge history. This week, Dolly Rouge turned 1!
So, it’s time to give something back. To celebrate our bloggiversary we have a bumper giveaway in store. We’ve pulled together some of our favourite products of the past year to pass on to you. We hope you like! Read on »
So with all of the gorgeous weather we’ve been having this summer (NOT) I haven’t felt the need to de-fuzz my pins. How depressing. I’m not one to go sunning myself (thanks to the knowledge of what UV rays do to skin and fear of “the big C”) so I’m content to neglect my furries to the point where I’d need a lawnmower to tackle ‘em. The pure lazebag in me loves getting waxed, since the results last for weeks and someone else is doing the hard work. However the miser in me hasn’t allowed the luxury of a salon wax in over a year *sniff*. Well my postgrad ain’t gonna pay for itself
The lazebag in me also couldn’t be doing with DIY drippy wax pots needing to be reheated constantly and spatulas getting stuck to everything, so home waxing wasn’t an option. Until now. Ladies, behold the wonder that is the Veet Easy Wax Electrical Roll-On.

I picked up a quartet of the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains on the day of their release (that dedicated am I), in the only available shades at the time 001 Honey, 015 Cherish, 020 Lovesick and 040 Rendezvous. I believe some other shades have been launched since, and you’d better believe I’ll be going back for them. TL;DR I am LOV. ING. THESE. I don’t think I’ve been using any other lip products for the past month (aside from Lush’s awesome new lip colour), and for a fickle beauty blogger that says a lot. For the details and a GIVEAWAY keep reading. Read on »
