Weleda Skin Food; a new favourite

I am a total sucker for cult beauty buys and products such as Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, Clarins Flash Balm and Lancome Flash Bronzer have all graced my dresser in its hayday. I surprised myself by resisting Weleda Skin Food for years, that was until a recent trip to a local health food store where I spotted it. I tried a small bit in the shop and instantly fell in love with its tangy fragrance and I duly handed over 10.50 of my Euro bucks to take it home with me.

Skin food is formulated with pansy, organic chamomile and calendula and is safe for both adults and little ones to use; making it an ideal product for any household’s bathroom cabinet. Weleda don’t test on animals and all products are formulated naturally without the use of artificial fragrances, colours or preservatives.

My experience: Weleda Skin Food is one of my new favourite products! It can be used for a plethora of different ailments including dry skin (especially elbows, knees, feet etc), used as a calming face mask, on irritated skin, on cuticles etc etc. The possibilities are numerous so no wonder it is a firm favourite amongst beauty addicts everywhere. It comes in a 75ml squeezy tube and has a real “natural” smell; when I say natural I mean it smells of fabulous oils including chamomile, viola, almond and rosemary. It has a balm like consistency that tends to soften from the heat of hands and I would liken it to some of the more expensive Declèor balms which I have used and loved in the past. I used Skin Food as a dry skin healer for my rough spots after my sun holiday and I also used it as an intensive night time face moisturiser once or twice to combat dehydration. I wouldn’t recommend face use every night or day though as it is quite nourishing and I don’t want the blame for any of your breakouts!

Have you tried Weleda products before? Any other must haves I should be aware of? Let me know in the comments.
