Shutterbug is a shop that came to my attention on Facebook and I have been following them with great interest ever since. I love nothing better than a vintage or charity shop find so you can imagine why my interest was piqued. Shutterbug are catering to the vintage market like no other store in the South East and this weekend sees their now infamous Vintage Kilo Sale taking place in Kilkenny.
Their Vintage Kilo Sale takes place in the Langton House Hotel Ballroom, starting at 11am. The event features clothes sold by the kilo, instead of by price tags. You shop as normal amongst the rails laden with Shutterbug stock, take it to the counter and simply pay €20 per kilo!
It promised to be a fabulous event (past attendees have raved about it) and I am raging that once again pre-arranged plans means I won’t be able to visit so I am counting on some of you to go (looking at Kat) and report back!
For those who have been living under a rock and have never heard of Shutterbug, well it is an affordable, street-style vintage store and portrait studio owned by brother and sister Eoin Hennessy & Blanaid Hennessy, who are aided and abetted by stylists Brid Ní Laochdha, Mary-Kate Lanigan and Caoimhe Moran, also from Kilkenny. The store’s ethos is ‘overdressed for the occasion, under-dressed for the weather’ at at prices that make sure every day can be a dress-up day!
They also customise vintage Levis in store so you can put your own stamp on pre-loved denims!
