I have been an ardent fan of Roger & Gallet since I first spotted the brand in Sam McCauley’s last year. Their range of unique scents, combined with their reasonable price point make their products a firm favourite on my dresser. Today I thought I would share with you how I layer two of my favourite Roger & Gallet scents, Bois D’Orange and my new favourite Thè Vert (Green Tea).
First up I was kindly sent the Bois D’Orange Sublime Or for review; and seeing as I liked the original Bois D’Orange I knew me and the Or edition would be firm friends. The Or edition comes with beautiful specks of gold shimmer suspended in the scent and body cream. I use my Lush Flying Fox for showering, then lash on the Sublime Or body lotion. I let it sink in then generously spritz myself in the fragrant water. The result is a delicate summer/autumnal smell, not overpowering in the least bit, and fabulous shimmery skin. I love this combination of scent layering especially when wearing my fake tan. The combination of the Lush shower gel, Roger and Gallet cream and fragrant water gets rid of the fake tan smell and the shimmery lotion makes the tan POP!
Next up is Green Tea; a scent I have worn and loved for donkeys years! I usually stick with the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea fragrance; it is a light and fresh fragrance that makes me feel clean and summery and is super affordable! This summer however I had an affair with Roger and Gallets Green Tea. Thè Vert as it is called is a fragrance made up of top notes of yuzu, mandarin and grapefruit, middle of green tea, white freesia, jasmine and lily of the valley. Base notes of cedar wood, lignum vitae and amber complete this beautiful scent. Before I spritz myself in Thè Vert I lash on some of my beloved Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honey Drops Body Cream (you can pick up a MAHOOSIVE tub of this in Dublin Airport for 19.00 euros). It is the most amazing body cream; super moisturising but not sticky or greasy it also leaves skin delicately fragranced. I would never cheat on my Elizabeth Arden body cream (its even amazing on sun burn or super dry skin) so I’m delighted it works so will with Thè Vert.
