Going Balmy for Revlon’s new Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. And a GIVEAWAY!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Giveaway

I picked up a quartet of the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains on the day of their release (that dedicated am I), in the only available shades at the time 001 Honey, 015 Cherish, 020 Lovesick and 040 Rendezvous. I believe some other shades have been launched since, and you’d better believe I’ll be going back for them.  TL;DR I am LOV. ING. THESE. I don’t think I’ve been using any other lip products for the past month (aside from Lush’s awesome new lip colour), and for a fickle beauty blogger that says a lot. For the details and a GIVEAWAY keep reading.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Swatches

These were very obviously released to be the chemist/drugstore dupe of Clinique’s Chubby Sticks. And they are that, plus a whole lot more. Smart move Revlon. I find the texture of the Balm Stains to be less glossy and a tad more waxy than their jelly-like Clinique cousins; but they are WAY more pigmented, and buildable from glossy sheen to statement lip. The name “Balm Stain” requires attention – one would expect them to have the properties of a balm like the Clinique originals, but do they really stain? Yes, yes they do. You’re looking at 4 hours longevity, fading to a tint. The arm I used for swatches nearly 12 hours ago is still lightly tinted, even after THREE showers (no I’m not obsessive compulsive, all will become clear in a future post!). Behold these beauties on the lips.

001 Honey has become my MLBB shade, taking me from corpse-like to office ready in the mornings. The stars of the show however are definitely 020 Lovesick and 040 Rendezvous – fabulous for a summery pop of colour to brighten the complexion (and spirits!) on our not-so-summery days. Lovesick in particular has fantastic buildability, longevity and stains the strongest of the bunch. At €11 each (about €7 cheaper than Clinique Chubby Sticks) Revlon has it won for me.

And now for the part you’ve all been waiting for…

I love them but haven’t tried the Chubby Sticks… the Revlon ones are much better value in my opinion! I have Rendezvous but would love to try Honey or Lovesick!
