Trilogy Natural Actives for Men 4 Moisturiser with SPF15

I bought Trilogy Natural Actives 4 Moisturise with SPF15 for himself recently as I found it in my favorite local chemist reduced from €22.95 to €11.00. Himself was happy out as the moisturiser he had been using had just run out and I had caught him using my beloved La Roche-Posay Hydraphase - the fecker! He clearly has no idea of how much beauty products cost me on a weekly basis, but in fairness that’s probably a good thing ;)

This cream is aimed at men as you can see from the packaging above; a nice nondescript brown affair. Very Irish man indeed. It comes in a squeezy 50ml tube and contains zinc, copper and magnesium to restore skin vitality. It also contains SPF15 and provides UV protection along with maintaining the skin’s moisture levels.

Long story short this tube of cream did not fare well. On first use himself said it made his face feel moist all day; something he didn’t like at all. He also said it was quite difficult to rub in and he felt it didn’t absorb fully into his skin, leaving a kind of masque like feeling all over. Not great really especially in the humid weather (or “close” weather as the Irish call it! Wtf?). I fully expected it to cause a breakout of spots on his face, as I assumed the cream was just sitting there clogging his pores. But alas I was wrong; thank feck because he would have blamed me! He used it like a good child for a few weeks before he insisted I help him look for something else. I couldn’t blame him really; he had given it a decent trial run but it just wasn’t meant to be. He is now using my half empty tub of Roc Complete Lift cream.

So to summarise we wouldn’t recommend this cream at all. At full price I feel your fellers would be disappointed. I had a go of it myself for research purposes and it feels really like a suncream; and not a very nice one at that.

On a funnier note, whilst I was Googling around the web looking for some new suggestions for him I asked him what type of skin he thought he had. He came back to me with this beauty, ” I have no idea what my skin type is to be honest but I think I would say it’s radiant, is that a type?”

I actually nearly died from the laughing. It’s far from “radiant” skin he was raised!

Yeah, I was disappointed. I’m not a fan of their Rosehip oil either but everyone else raves about it.
