I was invited by the nice folk at The Body Shop to try out a pampering session at my nearest store recently. Never one to turn down an opportunity to be pampered I jumped at the chance and took myself off to The Body Shop in The White Water Centre, Newbridge a couple of weekends ago. As it happens the summer sales had also started so I fully intended to kill two birds with the one stone…
Upon arrival at the store I was met by the lovely Courtney, possibly one of the nicest sales assistants/pampering queens I have had the pleasure to meet. We agreed upon a facial and Courtney assessed my skin before deciding which products to use. I was really looking forward to the facial as I haven’t used a lot of their face products even though I am a lifelong fan of their awesome body butters.
Courtney began by cleansing by face with Vitamin E Cream Cleanser, which was refreshingly cold upon application and left my skin very soft. She used a Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover to remove my eye makeup (obviously!) but sadly it did fail to remove all of my mascara so that’s one product I won’t be recommending for anyone who likes to pile on their eye makeup. Courtney then went on to use two of the stand-out products of the day: Vitamin C Microdermabrasion and Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask. The Vitamin C scrub was gentle yet powerful and did a brilliant job of removing dry flaky skin and the Vitamin E mask, well that’s a whole other ball game altogether!
I was so taken with the Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask that I parted with €20 of my finest eurobucks so I could take this little pink tub of awesomeness home with me. I was on the hunt for a new face mask after finishing my tube of Dermalogica Multivitamin so it all worked out perfectly.
This is a “sink in” mask, meaning that you don’t need to clean it off; perfect for the lazy amongst us. On the day of my facial Courtney tissued off excess and left the rest to absorb; my skin literally drank it up. I’ve used it once since I’ve been home, allowing it again to sink in and removed the excess when showering. It smells floral and old-worldy; like potions and lotions I remember from my granny’s era. It feels cooling upon application and left my skin plumped and super soft. It’s recommended for all skin types but if you don’t like heavy scents or heavy hydration then it may not be for you. My skin is quite dry at the moment and this mask is proving to be the perfect antidote.
Overall I was delighted with my visit to The Body Shop. I discovered lots of products that have been put on my “to try” list but my favourite part about the whole experience was Courtney, the lovely sales assistant. I was super impressed with her knowledge of all things Body Shop and her manner with any customer that came in was excellent. It’s rare these days to find people who genuinely love what they do and really know the products they are selling, so a huge round of applause for Courtney and The Body Shop. Keep up the good work guys!
