Put your best foot forward with Pixy Solid Foot Scrub and Peppermint Foot Cream!

We at Dolly Rougeland were so lucky last week to be visited by the Pedi-Pixy. Her timing was nothing less than miraculous, as our poor feet are feeling the heat big time. Welly weather combined with summer heat does not happy toesies make. The generous Pixy dropped off a tub of Peppermint Foot Cream, and an interestingly shaped Solid Foot Scrub to revive tired toes.

On one side of the (freaky?) foot, we have softening cocoa butter, mixed with refreshing, deodorising and antiseptic essential oils – neem, tea tree, lavender, cedarwood and almond oil. Bicarbonate of soda is also included, which fizzes invigoratingly on contact with wet skin, and is also a chemical exfoliant in its own right. Once your feet are good and softened, flip the foot over to reveal a loofah! Perfect for sloughing off tough dead skin for sandal pretty piggies. After giving your feet a good rinse, you’re ready to slather on the Peppermint Foot Cream. Oh how good this feels! The cream cools the skin on contact and is truly reviving for feet swollen from the heat. Peppermint and fennel are tingly and destinkifying, while almond, olive and calendula oils deeply nourish and hydrate skin, nails and cuticles. The texture is a dream too, whipped and mousse-like, defying how moisturising it is. I can’t wait to get home after work and slather some more of this on my flayed feet!

So last night I went the whole hog for my piggies, and treated them to soak n’scrub with my Pixy bits. I thoroughly recommend even the busiest person in the world to take the time to do this, as you’d be surprised how refreshed feet can revive the body and mind. Foot washing was prevalent and ritualised in times gone by, and it’s a shame the practice has fallen by the wayside. [Actually, that's just made me think of a photo I have of my Dad from the 80s - sitting on the kitchen counter in his jocks, washing his feet in the sink. Morto. I think that one will be pulled out for his next birthday party for sure!] So if you’re sitting in front of the telly of an evening, boil the kettle, grab a basin and a towel, and soak your tootsies. If you have them to hand, you could throw in some essential oils, epsom salts, even citrus fruits, to make the experience more spa-like. Your happy feet will thank you for it!

If you’re in need of a pampering foot treat, you can find Pixy Solid Foot Scrub (€8.75) and Peppermint Foot Cream (€9.49) on Pixy.ie.

What do you think ladies? Are you guilty of feet neglect? Do you feel better after a thorough pedicure? Sharing is caring!
